At Unity Place, we believe that community is more than just about all sharing the same building - it's about growing, taking care of one another, and creating opportunities for all to thrive. We've been working with fantastic local organisations, charities, and businesses to make that happen.
Supporting Local & Making a Difference
From the aroma of freshly brewed coffee to the beat of local music, our spaces have become a hub for connection. The Change Please Coffee TukTuk can be found on the ground floor, station side as part of our Work Café, offering a great selection of pastries and hot drinks - perfect for a cheeky snack between meetings or a catch-up with friends.
Change Please is more than great coffee, it’s a social enterprise that supports homeless people back into the workplace and helps them get their lives back on track. 100% of its profits go towards providing a living wage, housing, training, and job opportunities for those struggling to find shelter. The modified tuk-tuk serves fresh brew alongside additional cause-led guest espresso blends, with each guest blend supporting a wildlife, social, or environmental cause.

We’ve also been proud to collaborate with National Sound, a local music company supporting emerging talent. “Unity Place has given us the perfect stage to connect artists with their community,” says Dan from National Sound. “It’s all about giving local voices a platform.”
Together, we host regular live music nights in our Unity Sky Lounge, ranging from smooth jazz to soulful evenings, plus vibrant open mic nights that give new performers the chance to shine. You can explore upcoming performances and other activities on our What’s On page.
And those voices don’t stop with music. We host regular pop-ups for charities and local organisations, offering a free space for them to meet, share their work, and engage with the public in person. We also regularly run pop-up markets featuring local Milton Keynes traders, makers, and creatives - from handcrafted goods and unique gifts to independent food stalls and local services giving them a platform to showcase their talents and connect with new customers right here in Unity Place.

A Hall Full of Opportunity
Our Community Hall has become a vibrant meeting place for groups of all kinds. From The Man Cave, a male support group, to response training sessions and so much more, it’s a space built for people to connect and grow.
It’s also been the stage for unique cultural events, including a powerful fashion and art workshop as part of the IF:MK Festival, which brought together creativity, community stories, and self-expression under one roof.
“The hall has given our group a safe, welcoming environment where men can talk openly and support each other,” says Lloyd from The Man Cave.
You can find out how to use the hall for your own group or event here.

Sustainability in Action
Our connection with Camphill Gardens shows how small, everyday actions can have a big impact. Rather than sending our used coffee grounds to landfill, we donate them to be turned into nutrient-rich compost for their gardens, helping to feed the soil, reduce waste, and close the loop on our coffee offering.
But our commitment doesn’t stop at donations. On 5th November, the Unity Place team will be swapping their work shoes for wellies for a volunteering day at Camphill Gardens, getting hands-on with planting, tidying, and lending extra support to a space that means so much to the community.
“Partnerships like this show how local businesses can make a real, practical difference,” says Will, Head Gardener from Camphill Gardens. “Something as simple as coffee grounds can help our gardens grow and our community thrive.”

Sharing Through Collaboration
Community is also about giving people a platform and sometimes, a microphone. ACR Radio, a non-profit community Asian radio station, broadcasts directly from x+why here in Unity Place, surrounded by pioneering start-ups, entrepreneurs, and charities.
“Being here means we’re surrounded by creative energy,” says Jessica Memon Founder of ACR.
And on 12th November, we’re teaming up with MKFM and Collaborate MK for a special networking event. We’ll be giving away free tickets to people in our community who might not otherwise have the opportunity to attend. It’s an open door for entrepreneurs and local businesses to showcase their work, meet new contacts, and take a step into Milton Keynes business network. Find out more here about this event.
Unity Place is shaped by the people and projects that fill it. Every initiative, partnership, and event adds to a shared space where creativity, support, and connection can grow.
