When local men’s mental health group The Man Cave found itself without a regular meeting space, Unity Place stepped in with a simple but powerful offering: it’s free to hire - Community Hall – a dedicated space open to groups that support and strengthen the local community.

“For us, the space has been a lifesaver,” says Lloyd Pickthall from The Man Cave. “It was offered to us at a time when the group was without a home. It’s accessible, welcoming, and genuinely supports the kind of atmosphere we try to create, one that is open, grounded, and safe. Having a consistent, central location like this has made it so much easier for new people to join, and for us to grow our reach across the community.”

Since moving their weekly sessions to Unity Place, The Man Cave has seen a steady rise in engagement, a reflection, they say, of how well the space meets their needs. The group offers informal, peer-led sessions where men from all walks of life can come together to talk openly about mental health, connect deeply, and support one another without judgment or pressure.

Unity Place’s Community Hall is available free of charge to community groups, charities, and grassroots organisations. Located in the heart of Milton Keynes, the space is designed to be flexible, inclusive, and easy to access, ideal for everything from support groups and wellbeing sessions to creative workshops and educational events.
