The Challenge

As a volunteer-led, grassroots charity with limited funding, MKNWA faces the challenge of keeping costs low so that more resources can be directed towards community safety initiatives. Venue hires for quarterly committee meetings often represented a high cost, limiting the funds available for frontline crime prevention and outreach.

The Solution: Unity Place Community Hall

Since early 2025, MKNWA has been using the free Community Hall at Unity Place for its quarterly committee meetings. The hall provides a central, professional, and accessible space with free parking after 6pm, ideal for bringing together committee members, volunteers, and partner agencies from across Milton Keynes.

The Impact

· Cost savings reinvested: Funds that would have gone on venue hire are now used for crime prevention leaflets, community outreach, and support for local coordinators.

· Accessibility: A central MK location with free, evening parking ensures higher attendance from a wide range of volunteers and partners.

· Collaboration: The space enables structured, professional meetings that strengthen partnerships with local agencies and align future community safety plans.

Ready to hire our community hall for free and set your plans in motion for the people of Milton Keynes? Just send over your request at least 14 days before your event date. You can book morning, afternoon, or early evening slots (whatever suits you best).

Regular bookings are welcome – we’ll just check in every 3 months before confirming the next round. Please note that any mess or damage is the responsibility of the booking party. We kindly ask users to set up their space and tidy afterwards so that everyone can enjoy a clean and welcoming venue.
